Why Homeopaths Seem to Beat Around the Bush When Talking About Homeopathy
Have you noticed that when homeopaths talk about homeopathy it can sound like they are beating around the bush? Saying things like ‘it may help’ or ‘it supports the body’ rather than ‘this remedy does this’?
If so, you may not be aware that homeopaths are a bit muzzled when it comes to taking about homeopathy and remedies.
We can’t say it treats anything or cures or heals anything. We can’t say this remedy does this or this remedy does that. We can’t even say we got better when we took a remedy, or that our clients did.
So, if I fell over and whacked my eye, and I took an Arnica immediately and the swelling stopped, my eye returned to normal and I had nothing but a faint bruise the next day, I couldn’t say that Arnica did that. I could say that Arnica supported my body to heal itself.
Why all the waffly rules? It’s is because there are groups of people who passionately hate homeopathy. I still am confused about ‘why’ so I’ll leave it at that.
These people track down homeopaths and other natural health practitioners and report them to governing bodies. In the worst instances, they sue them.
So, in the interest in abiding by the rules, here are some of the things in my family homeopathy may have helped support our natural healing mechanisms with:
Blood noses
Kids falling onto things and making dents in their heads
Kids falling over, bumping themselves, falling off things, scraping themselves etc.
Mosquito bites
Depression
Anxiety
Sunburn
Indigestion
Sore joints
Eyesight
Liver support
Fevers
Headaches
Colds
Coughs
Grief
Panic
Bad Dreams
Nutrition
Hormones
Digestive system
Detoxification of heavy metals, chemicals, antibiotics etc
General stuckness in life
Obsessive, compulsive, addictive behaviours
Puncture wounds
Sore muscles
Intestinal Worms
Fear
Incessant worry
Teething
Sprains and strains
Hayfever
Motherly exhaustion
Burnout
Plantar fasciitis
(This list is by no means comprehensive, it’s just a quick brain storm).
So, thank you homeopathy for maybe, kind of, potentially helping with all these things that resolved after we we took the remedy!
