Homeopathy; No Judgement Here.
One of the most wonderful things about homeopathy for me is that it is completely non-judgemental. That is a space that is hard to find in this day and age.
When we are free of judgement, it allows us the freedom to be ourselves, and accept ourselves as we are. This is key to self worth, which in turn is key to our personal freedom.
Nobody is perfect - I speak for myself here! Judgement expects you to be more than you might be able to be. It also tends to lead to us focusing on our faults rather than attributes.
We are all perfectly imperfect (as a good friend regularly says to me). We are the sum of our mistakes and our failings as well as our special gifts. And we are children of something greater than ourselves. In the words of the Desiderata, ‘you are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.’
Humans are designed by nature to be judgemental. This is how we deem safe from unsafe. A scary looking person in the park sets off alarm bells, a loud and aggressive person the same. An act of kindness or a genuinely warm smile - we assume we are in safe company.
This is the way we are built, although we don’t have to accept this. The big man with the tattoos often in my experience turns out to be a gentle teddy bear. And I have been fooled by acts of kindness before, as I’m sure you have been too.
It is the greatest gift we can give another, to accept them fully and truly as themselves, flaws and all.
The practice of homeopathy is that of the observer. It doesn’t judge what you’ve eaten in the past week, merely notes what you have been craving and perhaps your relationship with food. It doesn’t judge that you want to run screaming from your family, merely notes the words you use to describe this. It doesn’t judge your body shape or what you wear or how many friends you have, or how much money you make. Merely, it makes observations as to your words and feelings on these.
Homeopathy just is, like the trees or the sun. It is universal law at its best. At the fundamental base of all religion (or should I say what is supposed to be) is acceptance and love. This is how I like to think of the practice of homeopathy.
