A Case of Becoming Unstuck – Ignatia & Emerald
I recently worked with a wonderful woman, who came to me for a constitutional consultation. On the surface, she was coping well—managing day-to-day life and keeping everything together for those around her. But underneath was a deep, unresolved grief from the past. She had kept going, as so many of us do, but in doing so, her own emotional needs had been left behind.
In her case, I could see that the grief hadn’t truly been processed. So we began with a high potency dose of Ignatia, a remedy often indicated for acute grief, and useful where the acute has become frozen in time. Sometimes a trauma, shock, or heartbreak lodges itself so deeply within us that we never quite move on from it. In these cases, a high potency remedy can help unfreeze that moment, allowing the person to move forward.
I could see Emerald was a contender underneath this grief, and sure enough when we touched base to see how she was going (and after a big grief release), the feelings of being stuck, frustrated and unsure as to what the next steps in life were, became clearer.
I then prescribed Emerald—a wonderful remedy that has the ability to help people move forward when they feel stuck. Peter Tuminello, in “Twelve Jewels”, literally paints the beautiful picture of a lion, trapped behind bars, frustrated and pacing. It holds the desire to break free but doesn’t know how to unlock the cage.
Emerald is a remedy for those who are frustrated, unable to clearly see the next step, even though they know change is needed. Think of Dorothy heading to the Emerald City in The Wizard of Oz—Emerald often clears the path so that the yellow brick road becomes visible.
Sure enough, when we spoke again after she had taken Emerald, she was in the process of painting the house in preparation for it’s sale. She and her family had visited a town about 2.5 hours away, and being inspired by the area had visited a property for sale and, on the spur of the moment, made the decision to move. Clearly, she had become unstuck and shown where to go next!
That’s the quiet power of constitutional homeopathy—it can help us return to ourselves and move forward with clarity and confidence.
Please note: Constitutional treatment must always be guided by a qualified homeopath.
